Current Hair Care Routine

Hi everyone,
It has taken a few years of trying and testing hair products to find the ones that actually work well for me, and what kind of blogger would I be if I didn't share them with you.
I have tried all kinds of products, from high end to ones that are cheap as chips (from Poundland!) and have come to the conclusion that when it comes to shampoos and conditioners, price doesn't really change much. A really expensive shampoo will clean your hair just as well as a cheap one. It's the before and after shower products that I personally like to splurge on.

I don't use the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Extreme before every hair wash (I wash my hair every 2 or 3 days, which doesn't mean I shower every 2-3 days just in case you were worried!) just because it's so expensive and I want to be able to spread it out over a couple of months. I usually use it every Sunday because Sunday equals pamper day. I only started using it this year and am already on my second tub, that's how much I love the stuff. I have really noticed a huge difference, my hair is less damaged despite having had it dyed and bleached back in April. My hair has never been in better condition and I feel like this product plays a huge factor in that. If you want to read my full review, I will link it here.

I tend to change up my shampoo and conditioner a lot, but these are the two I always come back to. Nothing fancy or expensive, just good old Nivea. There are several different Nivea shampoos and conditioners that I like, one of which being the Long Repair range, but the ones I am currently using are the Diamond Gloss shampoo and conditioner. I adore the smell of them more than anything and it's the kind of scent that clings to the hair for a long time, and they do add a lovely shine to my hair. I shampoo twice and then use the conditioner on my lengths and ends and leave it on for a while before rinsing.

Now for after care. I have tried many different oils and my number one is MoroccanOil. It works best for my hair out of all of the ones I have previously tried. I'm pretty sure everyone has heard of it so I won't go into too much detail. I apply it on towel dried hair, just on the lengths and ends and then comb it through with my tangle teezer.
Then I use Kérastase Ciment Thermique, also on the lengths and ends, and comb my hair again. I have a review of this as well, so I will leave a link here. I feel like these two products combined tame the frizz and keep my hair nice and shiny looking.
And finally, I use a heat defense spray and the one I am currently using is the Lee Stafford Straight Heat Protection. It smells amazing, I love the smell of all of the Lee Stafford products. I spray it all over my hair, brush it through and then tie it all up in a towel.

When my hair is mostly dry, I use my hair dryer to finish it. I usually section my hair into three parts to make sure it's properly dried.
And that's all I do in terms of hair care. I usually avoid using anything on my hair when it's dry, because it just makes my hair greasy. On day 3, I do tend to use dry shampoo on the roots if I choose to wear my hair down, but it usually lasts nicely and doesn't get horribly greasy on day 3.

Hope this has been helpful to some of you. Have a great weekend!

Hair Care Haul & Review

Hi guys!

Just to avoid any confusion, the last few posts and products (this one included) are all from a few months ago (March/April), which means that I've used all these products now. Luckily, having still had a taste of blogging, I couldn't resist taking a few pictures when I got them, despite being on a blogging break.

John Frieda Full Repair Shampoo, Conditioner & Deep Conditioner
for overstyled hair
I'd bought the John Frieda Full Repair products, after having heard so many good reviews on them. I got the Full Body Shampoo and Conditioner and the Deep Conditioner. I didn't really expect all my split ends and damaged hair to disappear, but I did notice a difference. My hair felt very silky, especially after using the deep conditioner. It also looked a little nicer than usual, but I could have been imagining that. The thing I liked best about these products though, are the fact that they smell, and make my hair smell, amazing! Not really fruity, but very clean (I'm no good at describing smells, sorry!) But I loved it, and got many compliments on it too! I stupidly bought the deep conditioner from Sephora, where the whole range costs 10€, and the other two products from Auchan, where the range cost just under 8€, which is still rather expensive for shampoo and conditioner, so I wouldn't buy this all the time. I definitely recommend this if you want to treat yourself and your hair!

L'Oreal EverPure Colour Care and Moisture Shampoo, Conditioner & Intense Mask
sulphate free
These are some of the things I asked my mum to look out for, because I really wanted to try them. I didn't notice too much of a difference in my hair's moisture, but it did keep the colour looking nice for longer.Although, when using the deep conditioner, my hair did feel softer. And I love the scent of the conditioner and mask! The shampoo has botanical rosemary and juniper oils in it, which don't smell bad, but aren't really my cup of tea. (I do know that they aren't in the shampoo just to smell good, more to actually help nourish the hair, but the smell of a product can easily win me over) Whereas both the conditioner and the mask have botanical rosemary and MINT oils in them! Which means they smell amazingly strong of mint, so if you don't like mint, I wouldn't recommend them. Luckily I love the scent of mint, it smells so fresh and clean, and stays in the hair for days.
I can't really comment on whether or not it really is sulphate free and natural, because I do not know any names of chemicals and any of that stuff, so I'll just believe the bottle. (Naive, I know.)
The thing I absolutely hated about the shampoo and conditioner is the terrible packaging! It randomly split down the side and everything leaked out, which is such a waste of product and money. I had to use tape to close it up again but since it's quite a weird shape, it still wouldn't close, so that was annoying.
The shampoo and conditioner are £5.99 each, and the mask is £6.99 in Boots.

VO5 Heat Protect Styling Spray
protects hair from heat up to 230°
I definitely hit the jackpot with the great smelling products! This one smells so nice and works really well. I've already repurchased it. I just spray it on wet hair, after towel drying it, and comb it through, before drying it. It claims to make styling the hair easier, which it does, my hair goes "right" and I have less bad hair days, and it stays in place for longer. It also claims to calm frizz, static and flyaways, I haven't really seen a difference, since my hair is still frizzy if left in it's natural state (curly and messy), but when it's colder, I'll see if it's claims about calming static are true, because that's when I'll be wearing hats. That would be the only thing that would go against it, but I only really bought it as heat protection.
It costs £3.69 in Boots, which is really not too expensive, and I'll definitely keep buying it.

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know your thoughts on them!
